The service is divided into four categories, including RQC for resharpenable quick-change inserts.
Somma Tool Co.has developed an online Form Tool Freedom service to simplify the ordering process for procuringholders and insertsthat best suit customers’ production requirements.
旨在提供完整的检修服务es to companies that use form tools. Online supply category options include RQC for resharpenable quick-change inserts; STA for single-use, throwaway inserts; DIY for make-your-own inserts; and SES for Somma to help customers design inserts.
The RQC category includes resharpenable quick-change inserts and holders that have inserts which can be resharpened up to 20 or 30 times, thereby significantly reducing machine downtime. According to the company, these inserts are always on center after resharpening; include carbide and HSS inserts; are well suited for part families and long-running jobs; and can also accept single-use inserts.
The STA category includes single-use, throwaway inserts and economical holders for companies that prefer not to resharpen or grind inserts. The company says these are economical holders which feature a compact, yet rigid design; offer 0° or 5° top rakes; include carbide and HSS inserts; and offer a simple backup spacer.
In the DIY category, Somma provides the insert blanks and EDM fixtures to customers that want to make their own inserts in-house, which it says is a unique option for the industry. This category enables customers to have control over their own design and deliveries.
The SES option enables Somma Engineering Services to design, if needed, the inserts from customer part prints, and supply customers with a PDF print and DXF file so customers can immediately begin cutting their own inserts. Traditional dovetail, circular blanks and finish ground to print form tools are also available.
