Enhanced Extruded Machining Stock For Close Tolerance

Sapa Industrial Extrusions has enhanced its line of extruded aluminum machining stock to include Econ-O-Rod Plus and Econ-O-Hex Plus. Improved features include straightness, which is 0.0083" per foot, 0.1" maximum over 12' length. This is equivalent to two-thirds standard extruded tolerance for most sizes, the company says.

The stock is available in alloys such as 6061, 6082 and reduced-lead 6042 (all of which are RoHS and ELV-compliant). It is also available as 6262, with a choice of tempers including stress-relieved -T6511 and -T5511.

Extruded aluminum bar diameters range from 0.312" to 7.5", and hex bar thickness ranges from 0.438" 3.25". Custom and metric sizes are also available.
