Autodeskhas acquiredProdsmart, a maker of software for optimizing manufacturing processes with automation and digitization. Prodsmart technology provides a real-time system of record for data collection, management and analysis to give production managers insights from order through to shipping, the company says.

This acquisition is one in a series that supports Autodesk’s goal of enabling the full gamut of smart manufacturing. It also recently acquired the IP assets ofCIMCO, known for its machine communication software and G-Code visualization. CIMCO developed technology that automates the process of defining machine strategies and provides a browser-based experience. This allows machinists to better connect to the rest of the product development lifecycle, Autodesk reports.

Last year, the company acquired Upchain, addingcloud-native PLM capabilities. Autodesk says Upchain increases efficiency and resiliency while removing barriers to collaboration by surfacing and connecting project data from across the design-to-make software environment.

The company says its new assets are already transforming what it is able to deliver in itsFusion 360software.
