Mark Your Calendar for the PMPA Washington, D.C., Fly-In, September 21,2011
Director of Marketing and Communications, PMPA
ThePrecision Machined Products AssociationGovernment Affairs Committee encourages all companies involved in the manufacturing supply chain, both members and non-members, to join them on September 21 for the annual PMPA Washington D.C. Fly-In.
PMPA’s retained lobbying firm, The Franklin Partnership, will organize a series of Congressional office visits for attendees so that all will have a chance to meet with their elected representative or a senior staffer.
By participating in these discussions with your elected representative, you’ll have the chance to tell your company’s story and how proposed or current legislation and regulations impact your business. With the wave of change that took place in the last election cycle, there are plenty of opportunities to meet with many fresh new faces on Capitol Hill who are pro-small business and pro-manufacturing.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to introduce yourself or show what your business contributes in terms of jobs and tax dollars in the district that a new congressman or senator represents, a meeting in D.C. would be the perfect opportunity to begin the conversation.
PMPA staff and The Franklin Partnership will coordinate all of the arrangements for this event. The Fly-In attendees are divided up by state. Following a brief morning overview at The Franklin Partnership to discuss strategy, the group will begin its office visits on Capitol Hill.
The office visits typically begin at 9:30 a.m., with the final visit concluding at approximately 3:30 p.m. A PMPA senior-level staff member or a representative of The Franklin Partnership will accompany the groups to each office visit.
If you’re interested in participating in this important industry event, please contact Rob Kiener, PMPA Director of Government Affairs and Communications, at:rkiener@pmpa.org/ Phone: 440-526-0300, ext. 16. Additional information will be provided over the next several weeks concerning travel and hotel reservations, as well as the Fly-In schedule.
We hope to see you in the nation’s capital next month for the industry’s D.C. fly-in.
